The Sattva Knowledge Institute report on Perspective Adolescent Health and Wellbeing Interventions India features 15 Non-profits, with Arogya World being the only one working in the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) space.
Sattva released the report in May 2023 that highlights the following:
- Adolescence is a crucial phase that can significantly impact one’s overall well-being. The Government of India recognized the importance of providing appropriate support to address the unique needs of the adolescent population, which comprises 21% of the total population, amounting to around 253 million people.
- To promote diabetes prevention and educate the community, the Arogya World Healthy Schools program employs a comprehensive approach that engages teachers, frontline workers, and student peer leaders. The program extends beyond the school and fosters partnerships with families and communities to ensure successful behavior change.
- The program’s impact is measured using knowledge, attitude, and practice indicators before, during, and after implementation. Arogya World is partnering with Stanford University’s CARE Center to confirm the program’s effectiveness.
