Arogya World had the opportunity to be featured in two key publications this month. The first was with Thrive Global honoring World Health Day on April 7. The theme of World Health Day was about building a fairer, healthier world for everyone. In the article, we reflected on how COVID-19 has highlighted not only the challenges and inequities of those living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) but also the intersection of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Those with underlying NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity saw an increase in negative outcomes from COVID. Additionally, we initiated a social media campaign featuring our partners, staff, and stakeholders’ perspectives on building a fairer, healthier world.
The second article was with Express Healthcare celebrating 100 years of insulin. The World Health Organization commemorated the anniversary of insulin discovery by announcing a global diabetes compact, which commits to bringing greater awareness and government support for preventing and managing diabetes. Insulin was a wonderful discovery that has enabled many to live healthier lives and the global compact will go a long way in enabling a healthier and fairer world for everyone.
We at Arogya World view it as our responsibility, indeed our legacy, to build a movement around healthy living throughout India. Healthy living is our best tool for fighting two modern-day’s scourges – NCDs and COVID.
Let’s work together to build a life full of Aroyga, a life full of good health.
