| Arogya World was at the Indiaspora Forum 2026, in Bengaluru in March. Our lounge at the forum gave us the space to meet people, and explain what we do, especially our Arogya City project.
Arogya City is our city-level diabetes prevention model that brings together government, corporates, hospitals, educational institutions, and non-profits to improve health and well-being in cities, with action on prevention, mental health, and healthier living.
We had encouraging conversations with organisations interested in our work. We also saw exciting interest in taking the Arogya City vision to other cities. For us, that was a powerful signal of what can happen when the right people encounter the right idea in the right setting.
And the unexpected hero of the day?
Our step-count board.
It was simple, interactive, and impossible to ignore. People stopped, participated, asked questions, and stayed back to learn more. What looked like a small engagement tool became a conversation starter that helped us connect with a wide range of leaders and supporters who were genuinely interested in prevention, public health, and city-scale change.
MR Rangaswami was incredibly encouraging and personally drew many people to this simple action. This made a real difference. That energy turned into meaningful momentum. Sree Sreenivasan encouraged us with his many videos.
Sometimes, all it takes is one small idea to create the kind of connection that moves a mission forward. At Indiaspora Forum 2026, our lounge did exactly that. We thank the whole Indiaspora team for the opportunity to create the Arogya lounge. |
